Reconciliation & Month-End Close

A traceable path from exports to review.

Compare the agreed bank and ledger records, keep unmatched items visible, and discuss supporting close schedules without giving up your review responsibility.

Scope & quote

We agree the work, records, timing and price before starting. Broader services are quoted separately from the two bounded pilots.

Service scope

Make the differences easier to review.

Useful when your reviewer needs bank-to-ledger workpapers, a list of unresolved differences, or a defined preparation task within the close.

A defined starting point: see the bank reconciliation pilot and its exact limits. Broader work needs a separate scope and quote.

  • Bank reconciliation

Match the supplied bank and ledger exports using agreed rules. Identify unmatched records and possible timing differences without forcing a balance.

  • Supporting close schedules

Discuss specific account schedules, opening and closing balances, source references and a list of outstanding evidence. Broader close work needs a separate scope.

  • Draft journals for approval

If agreed, prepare proposed entries with the supporting calculation, source and explanation. Your client or firm approves before any posting.

From input to handoff

Make the review practical.

A defined set of records and outputs makes your review straightforward.

To define the assignment

Inputs to scope

  • The bank account, month and combined count of bank plus ledger source rows.
  • The available opening/closing balances, export fields and matching rules.
  • For later review: supporting documents and client-approved instructions for any schedules or draft entries.

Your handoff

Reviewable handoff

  • A bank-to-ledger workpaper with match references and unmatched items.
  • A difference list distinguishing evidence gaps from proposed explanations.
  • If separately agreed: a close review pack combining reconciliations, supporting schedules, adjustment drafts and open questions for approval.

A practical handoff

Define the work. Keep the decisions clear.

A preparation assignment begins with a specific task and an agreed reviewer.

  1. Describe the task

Share the output you need, approximate volume, period and relevant jurisdiction. Keep client records and identifiers out of the initial inquiry.

  2. Confirm fit and scope

Agree a restricted channel, recipients and retention before sharing files. Review a suitable sample, then agree outputs, timing and final price.

  3. Prepare and hand back

For accepted work, Neracia prepares and self-checks the agreed files. Your firm reviews exceptions, approves decisions and retains final sign-off.

Before preparation begins: scope, final price and payment terms are agreed in writing before issuing an invoice. Work starts after the agreed payment is received. Extra volume or complexity is quoted before work begins.

A clear handoff. Decisions stay with you.

Client review and approval

You approve accounting policies, classifications, rates, adjustments and final posting. Management reports and schedules carry no assurance.

Client-owned payments

Payment execution remains client-owned. You approve and execute payments and send communications. Neracia does not request live bank credentials, passwords or OTPs.

Specialist services

Independent foreign tax advice and filing/sign-off require an appropriate local qualified provider. Specialist tax, CFO, incorporation, dissolution and EOR/hiring requests require a separate qualification and delivery-availability check. No provider is represented as secured.

Before an assignment

A few practical questions.

Know what to send and what you will receive.

What if the records do not reconcile?

Differences stay in the exception list with the available source references and questions for your reviewer. Missing evidence or policy decisions are handed back rather than resolved through an unsupported entry.

What should I include in a quote request?

Describe the task, desired output, period and approximate record volume. Keep client records, identifiers, passwords and OTPs out of your first message.
